# Artificial Intelligence Adoption Enters Maturity Phase in Business Processes

Artificial intelligence adoption has entered a maturity phase where organizations are moving from isolated pilots to projects linked to operational efficiency, productivity, work quality, and innovation capacity.

According to a McKinsey report titled The State of AI 2025: Agents, Innovation, and Transformation, 88% of companies use artificial intelligence in at least one business function. However, only about one third has managed to scale it across all organizational processes.

In Spain, a study by Strand Partners titled Unlocking the Potential of AI in Spain in 2026 indicates that 61% of companies use artificial intelligence, which is seven points above the European average. This represents an annual growth of 22%, and 81% of organizations that adopted the technology report productivity increases.

Data from AWS and the Strand Partners study show that 64% of organizations are in a basic adoption phase focused on simple chatbots and automations. Only 17% have reached a transformative phase involving advanced systems and agentic artificial intelligence to redesign entire operations.

IBM states that the current challenge is to deploy artificial intelligence securely, with governance, and at scale within critical business processes. The company notes that differential value now comes from connecting artificial intelligence with corporate data and daily operations rather than the specific model used.

Microsoft reports that transformation is visible in departments including finance, operations, human resources, marketing, sales, and customer service. The company notes that artificial intelligence agents can automate entire parts of a process by connecting teams, applications, and information.

Salesforce emphasizes that the challenge involves getting employees to incorporate the technology into daily activities through trust, training, and real integration. Zoho adds that while most Spanish companies use artificial intelligence tools, only one in four has incorporated them in an advanced way into their processes.
