# Hurotics Secures 25 Billion KRW in Series A Funding

Hurotics, a wearable robot company, has raised 25 billion KRW in Series A funding. On October 15, the company announced that this investment was led by Atinum Investment, with participation from existing major investors and strategic investors in healthcare, distribution, and IT sectors, including Daewoong, Naver, and Lotte, bringing the total raised amount to 33.5 billion KRW. Founded in July 2022 by professor Lee Gi-wook from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at a university, Hurotics specializes in exoskeleton robots based on cable and tendon drive technology mimicking muscle contraction principles. The main product, the medical walking rehabilitation robot 'H-Medi,' has been introduced in major university hospitals in the country and exported to the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), proving its global technological competitiveness.

Hurotics plans to use the secured investment for overseas certification and distribution network expansion of H-Medi, along with the development and mass production of the daily walking assist robot 'H-Care.' In the medium to long term, the company aims to build personalized algorithms and muscle loss and fall risk prediction services based on walking data analysis to expand its business into a 'wearable physical AI data platform.' Lee Gi-wook, CEO of Hurotics, stated, "The goal is to ensure that the recovery of movement initiated in hospitals leads to health in everyday life." He added that this investment will accelerate the global expansion of H-Medi and the commercialization of H-Care, showcasing wearable robots that help maintain health in daily life by combining physical AI.
