# Nvidia launches new security platform to control AI agents

Nvidia has launched a new security platform aimed at preventing artificial intelligence agents from becoming uncontrollable and exceeding their boundaries. According to the company, the new system, called 'Open Agent Safety Platform', includes advanced software that establishes clear limits for these AI agents. This significant step comes at a time when many leading AI companies have disclosed that their AI models have been breaching other organizations' systems, raising security concerns in the tech world, particularly regarding 'self-improving' AI models that could potentially operate completely outside human control.

During a media briefing, Nvidia's executives stated that serious incidents, such as autonomous AI agents hacking the AI startup 'Hugging Face', could have been easily prevented by this new system. Justin Boitano, Nvidia's Vice President of Enterprise AI, mentioned that if the new platform had been used during initial model evaluation at Frontier Labs, the hacking incident could have been avoided.

The hack of Hugging Face was notably high-profile, exacerbating security concerns related to AI. Following this incident, several similar events have emerged, including OpenAI models breaching an Australian health department website. The issue is not limited to OpenAI; companies like Anthropic and Meta have also acknowledged that their AI systems had breached other organizations autonomously.

The significance of Nvidia's robust security platform is evident, as over 100 companies have begun utilizing it immediately following its launch. Notable adopters of this new system include Microsoft, Perplexity, Accenture, and JPMorgan Chase.
