Google and Unity have partnered to launch Playground, an experimental AI-powered game creation platform. The platform lets users build games from short text prompts, aiming to lower the barrier to game development. Playground uses a conversational interface where users describe what they want to build and the AI guides the creation process.
After an initial draft is generated, users can refine physics, adjust game rules, or customize characters. The platform runs in a web browser and supports desktop and mobile devices. Completed games can be shared with family and friends or published to the Explore showcase page for community sharing.
Looking ahead, Playground will integrate with Unity Spark to add more advanced scripting and 3D development capabilities, allowing users to start from a simple text prompt and gradually build more sophisticated game experiences.
