WDC Networks has formed a strategic partnership with Qualcomm to distribute artificial intelligence solutions at the edge (Edge AI) in the Brazilian market. The agreement, announced on Tuesday, October 27, involves the incorporation of the Qualcomm Dragonwing AI On-Prem Appliance Solution into the distributor's portfolio.

This partnership positions WDC Networks as a channel for national integrators and resellers to access Qualcomm's artificial intelligence technologies. The segment has been growing in the country: according to estimates from the International Data Corporation (IDC), the market for artificial intelligence solutions in Latin America is expected to reach approximately US$ 10 billion by the end of 2026.

The collaboration follows an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) distribution model. Through this model, WDC Networks will include the Qualcomm Dragonwing AI On-Prem Appliance in its offerings, equipped with the Qualcomm Cloud AI 100 platform. This technology was developed for intensive artificial intelligence workloads, focusing on energy efficiency and high performance.

The central proposal of the line is to process data locally, without relying on centralized cloud infrastructure. This model reduces latency, contributes to network and data security, and tends to lower operational costs. The priority sectors identified for this offering include industry, retail, security, telecommunications, and smart cities.

The commercial and marketing director of WDC Networks states that incorporating these solutions into the portfolio reinforces the commitment to connect global manufacturers with local partners and clients, providing advanced solutions that align with the needs of the Brazilian market.

For Qualcomm, the agreement utilizes WDC's partner network to expand the reach of Edge AI solutions in the country. The sales director of Qualcomm in Brazil mentions that the collaboration with WDC strengthens the company's presence in Brazil and broadens the reach of its edge AI solutions. He expresses confidence that together they can contribute to accelerating the digital transformation of companies across various sectors.

WDC Networks has been listed on the Brazilian stock exchange since 2021 and also operates in Colombia. The distributor works with over 30 brands and serves internet providers, specialized integrators, and large companies in sectors such as transportation, education, and retail.
