Apple has launched HomeView, a smart display designed for home use that supports Siri AI. The device features a 7-inch Liquid Retina display and is capable of providing entertainment, connectivity, and smart home control. HomeView can be used in a tabletop setting with an adjustable stainless steel stand and can be placed anywhere in the home. It is available in four colors: silver, starlight, rose pink, and space gray. There is also a wall-mounted version available in silver and space gray.
A key feature of HomeView is its personalized functionality, allowing it to recognize up to six individuals through its FaceTime camera. When in use, HomeView displays content tailored for the recognized person, ensuring privacy even when the device is shared among family members. Data is stored securely with encryption provided by the A18 chip.
HomeView can execute commands and operate using Siri AI, with a customizable interface. It has three main functions: it serves as an entertainment device, enabling access to Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple News, and Apple Podcasts; it functions as a communication tool, supporting FaceTime with Center Stage capabilities; and it acts as a smart home controller, displaying the status of up to nine devices on a single screen.
The HomeView is priced at 299 dollars and is available for pre-order starting today in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Singapore will begin pre-orders on October 15. Shipments are expected to start on November 13. Apple has indicated that the only other country set to offer the product in the future is South Africa, and there are currently no plans to sell the device in European Union countries.
