Security researchers have reviewed Meta's new AI assistant Muse's internal instructions and system films, which were made available by Meta to provide insight into how the service operates. The review indicates that Muse can create a personal profile page for each important person in the user's life, according to reports. This may include family members, partners, friends, colleagues, and other contacts.

Profiles are gradually filled with information such as where the person lives, what they work with, shared interests, and significant dates. Muse can also store details about the relationships themselves, including past trips, conflicts, and recurring conversation topics. Furthermore, Muse can be connected to messages, bank accounts, and health data. According to Meta, the intent is for the information to make Muse more useful.

The company states that Muse will request the user's approval before performing sensitive actions. There is also an activity log where users can see what the AI assistant has done, and it is possible to delete AI memories or disconnect external services.
