Nous Research has secured $90 million in Series B funding to enter the enterprise AI agent market. The funding was announced on October 7, 2026, and has valued the company at $1.5 billion.
The funding round was led by Robotics Ventures, with participation from investors including Nvidia, Union Square Ventures, Menlo Ventures, Samsung, and 1789 Capital, which includes Donald Trump Jr. as a partner. This investment brings Nous Research's total funding to $158 million.
Nous Research is known for its open-source AI agent, Hermes, which has quickly gained influence in the developer and personal user markets. The Hermes agent has been replicated over 24 million times and accounts for approximately 2.5% of global AI token usage.
The company has shown significant growth, with an annual recurring revenue (ARR) reaching $36 million as of September. It is expected to surpass $100 million by the end of this year. The newly secured funds will be used to expand the enterprise AI agent business.
The recently launched 'Hermes for Businesses' will help companies build and deploy tailored AI agents for their specific workflows. The enterprise version of Hermes focuses on managing complex workflows while emphasizing data security and privacy, targeting the demand for AI agents in corporate environments.
Furthermore, Nous Research introduced the 'Hermes Index,' a metric to evaluate the performance of AI agents. This index compares the actual work performance and costs of different AI models executed in the same Hermes agent environment. The evaluations utilized four tests, and the results indicate a shift in how enterprises may select AI agents based on efficiency rather than just benchmark scores.
