Suse Enhances AI Factory with Nvidia for Sovereign Artificial Intelligence
October 30, 2026 · 2 min read
Suse announced new features for the Suse AI Factory with Nvidia to provide corporate technology teams with sovereign control over agentic artificial intelligence workflows.
These updates include the integration of the Nvidia OpenShell Reference Architecture and the launch of Suse Linux Enterprise Server for Nvidia. The company is also expanding its ecosystem of certified partners.
The initiative targets companies that need to operate autonomous AI agents without transferring proprietary data to external infrastructures. The solution uses an open source software platform that combines centralized governance, data sovereignty, and Zero-Trust security.
To create a governed execution environment for autonomous agents, Suse integrated the Nvidia OpenShell Reference Architecture. This architecture utilizes Nvidia Vera Rubin for model inference, Nvidia Vera CPUs running OpenShell for agent execution, and Nvidia BlueField-4 data processing units running Nvidia Sentry, which is based on Nvidia Doca, for policy application on hardware and host independent monitoring.
Suse Linux Enterprise Server for Nvidia is designed to reduce the time between the arrival of new hardware and production operation. This distribution supports next generation Nvidia silicon, including Nvidia Vera Rubin infrastructure. It provides a single technical support point for the GPU driver stack, the kernel, the operating system, and the Kubernetes runtime. General availability for Suse Linux Enterprise Server for Nvidia is scheduled for November 2026 as an integrated feature of the Suse AI Factory with Nvidia.
In Mexico, the Secretariat of Finance of Guanajuato is using the Suse AI Factory with Nvidia in a proof of concept project to build a cognitive government. The project evaluates the deployment of AI workloads on high performance GPU infrastructure and optimizes internal workflows and public services.
Suse also launched a two tier certification framework for independent software vendors to grow the ecosystem. Six partners have already joined the program, covering use cases such as disaster recovery and backup for Kubernetes workloads and AI gateway governance.
Additionally, Suse and Fujitsu announced a partnership to provide a hybrid quantum platform powered by AI. This solution integrates Nvidia Cuda-Q software and the Suse AI Factory with Nvidia on Fujitsu servers to move hybrid quantum computing into the enterprise data center. This joint solution is expected to be available by the end of 2026.
