Utopai Studios Reaches 1 Billion USD Valuation After New Funding

Utopai Studios has achieved a valuation of 1 billion USD following a 60 million USD funding round completed in October 2026. The company has also reportedly received investment intentions for a subsequent round ranging between 2 billion USD and 3 billion USD.
As an AI native film and television company, Utopai Studios utilizes a production infrastructure that includes Utopai X, a video model customized based on MiniMax H3, and PAI, an intelligent production system. Utopai X has ranked second globally on both the text to video and image to video leaderboards of Artificial Analysis. The PAI system employs AI agents as production assistants to help plan shots and generate multiple versions of scenes.
The company has established partnerships with global entertainment firms including CJ ENM, Globoplay, DeNA, and Huace. It has received strategic investment from Creative 7, an entity owned by NBA Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony, and collaborated with NBA player James Harden on AI animated shorts. Utopai Studios is the first AI film company to join both the Writers Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild.
Several projects are scheduled for theatrical release in 2027, including the historical epic Cortés, the animated feature The Most Serious Fart, and the co production Half Moon. The sci fi series Space Nation has already had its distribution rights sold to a German television station and Globoplay at market prices for non AI content. Potential combined pre sale revenue for Space Nation and Cortés may reach 110 million USD.
Industry data indicates that global movie box office revenue was approximately 33.55 billion USD in 2025, while global content investment stood at 248 billion USD. In the same period, global licensed merchandise and services retail sales reached 389.8 billion USD, with character and entertainment IP accounting for 161.8 billion USD.
