Lp(a) levels ≥175 nmo/L were associated with a 31% increased risk of major adverse cardiovascular events and a 64% increased risk of stroke across a pooled analysis of over 20,000 patients.
Elevated Lp(a) is genetically determined and can raise cardiovascular risk even when standard cholesterol measurements appear normal, making it invisible to current routine screening.
