Amazon hands off Lost Ark and Throne and Liberty to new publishers, exiting MMO business
Amazon is transferring western publishing of Lost Ark to Smilegate in early 2027 and Throne and Liberty to NC via FireSpark Games starting Q4 2026, ending its involvement in MMOs.
Both games stay live, but players face data transfer gaps: Lost Ark players lose in-game mail and chat history, and Throne and Liberty's Auction House items may not carry over. The exit follows Amazon's shutdown of New World and cancellation of a Lord of the Rings MMO.
