Microsoft has blocked new subscriptions from adopting Azure SQL Data Sync, with full service retirement set for September 30, 2027.
Teams running hybrid or geographically distributed SQL sync topologies must now plan a migration, and there is no single replacement that covers every configuration SQL Data Sync supported. The available alternatives each handle only a subset of the hub-and-spoke sync scenarios, meaning some architectures will require re-engineering.
