Belkin has launched its first semi-solid-state power banks using BoostSolid Cell technology, which the company claims last up to three times longer than traditional lithium-ion power banks by adding a gel-like layer alongside the liquid electrolyte.
Semi-solid-state battery technology reduces the risk of overheating, swelling, and fires compared to standard lithium-ion batteries, while maintaining consistent power delivery across a wider temperature range. The tradeoff is a higher upfront price, which Belkin argues is offset by the longer functional lifespan of the battery pack.
