DJI's Mic Mini 2S is the first in its Mini lineup that can record your audio internally

DJI's Mic Mini 2S introduces internal 32-bit float recording to the Mini wireless microphone family, a feature absent from earlier Mini models. Each transmitter now contains 14.5GB of flash memory, enabling it to store audio locally while still transmitting wirelessly. This internal capture acts as a safety net, preserving audio even if the external recorder clips or the wireless link drops. Solo creators can therefore rely on a single unit for both primary and backup tracks without adding extra hardware.

The added storage makes the transmitters slightly heavier, moving from 11 grams to 12 grams per unit. Power is supplied by the familiar 1,950mAh charging case, which still provides about 42 hours of operation before recharging is required. The built-in storage has a fixed capacity, so recording time is limited. Despite the weight change, the magnetic clips, swappable covers and wind muffs remain unchanged, preserving the original handling experience.

The internal memory limits continuous recording sessions. Audio quality is good but lacks the clarity and low-end response of higher-end competitors. The system continues to work with existing DJI receivers and cameras via OsmoAudio Direct Connection and standard 3.5mm adapters. Availability in the United States remains uncertain because DJI products face regulatory restrictions there.
