Google Quick Share introduces tap-to-share mode for exchanging media between Android devices
Google is rolling out a tap-to-share mode for Quick Share, allowing Android users to exchange contacts, photos, and videos by bringing compatible devices close together.
This update brings Android's sharing capabilities closer to Apple's NFC-powered NameDrop feature. It initially limits the rollout to Pixel 6 and newer devices, with select Samsung Galaxy hardware receiving support soon.
