Fake GTA 6 demo used to install malware on PCs

Scammers are distributing a malicious file masquerading as a Grand Theft Auto 6 demo that steals passwords, cookies and other browser data.
The infostealer can harvest saved credentials, session cookies and FTP client details, giving attackers footholds into users' online accounts. Engineers need to educate users about verifying download sources and consider hardening credential storage against such theft.

Phony sites imitating Rockstar’s branding are offering a file claimed to be a GTA 6 demo.
The file is an infostealer that extracts passwords, browser cookies, autofill data, browsing history and FTP credentials.
Rockstar has not released any demo, so any such download is fraudulent.
