comma four can now run openpilot’s largest models using the new chestnut compute kit.
The added GPU gives the device enough horsepower to run models that were previously limited to desktop GPUs, expanding on-device autonomy capabilities. Engineers can test and deploy 1 billion-parameter models without redesigning the vehicle’s hardware architecture. However, the upgrade introduces new power and mounting requirements that must be accommodated in vehicle integration.
