Moderna and Merck announced positive Phase 3 results from the INTerpath-001 trial for intismeran autogene, an individualized mRNA neoantigen therapy, combined with KEYTRUDA in patients with completely resected stage IIB-IV melanoma.
This is the first positive Phase 3 result for an individualized neoantigen therapy and the first for an mRNA-based cancer therapy, marking a clinical validation milestone for the mRNA platform beyond infectious disease. The study met its primary endpoint of recurrence-free survival and a key secondary endpoint of distant metastasis-free survival.
