PGConf India 2027 scheduled March 2 to 5, 2027, CFP opens with Oct 15, 2026 deadline

The announcement fixes the conference window for March 2 to 5, 2027 and opens the Call for Papers immediately. Engineers now have a defined target date for submitting talks and planning attendance. This replaces the previous uncertainty about when PGConf India 2027 would occur. The location is set at the Sheraton Grand Hotel at Brigade Gateway in Bengaluru.

To submit, contributors must prepare a title, choose a 25- or 40-minute session length, write a short bio, and craft an abstract of no more than five hundred words. They also need to monitor the site for ticket sales, which are not yet open. The preparation effort includes time spent writing the abstract and aligning the talk with one of the listed topic areas. These activities represent the immediate cost of engaging with the event.

If the abstract is submitted after October 15, 2026, it will not be considered, so missing the deadline stops participation. Even with a timely submission, acceptance is not guaranteed; notifications arrive on November 15, 2026 and a talk may be declined. Additionally, if the chosen topic falls outside the areas such as core internals, performance, HA/replication, cloud, security, monitoring, ML, extensions, or community, the review may deem it unsuitable. Finally, without a ticket, once sales open, attendance is impossible regardless of paper acceptance.

Participating allows engineers to share real-world Postgres experiences and receive direct feedback from an audience interested in internals, analytics, and ecosystem tools. It also offers a chance to learn about developments like pgvector, new extensions, and operational practices discussed in the scheduled sessions. By contributing, engineers help shape the direction of the Postgres community and gain visibility for their work. These benefits accrue only when the submission is accepted and the attendee can be present in Bengaluru.
