SparkyLinux 8.4 Brings Back 32-Bit Support for Older PCs

SparkyLinux 8.4 reintroduces official 32-bit i686 installation media alongside its regular 64-bit and ARM64 releases.
The addition lets engineers deploy a Debian-based distro on older 32-bit hardware that was previously unsupported, extending the usable life of legacy machines. Because the 32-bit images are minimal and lack a graphical installer, provisioning will require scripted text-mode installation. Existing installations can be upgraded in place, avoiding a full reinstall for current users.

Official 32-bit Live/Install ISOs return, offering MinimalGUI (Openbox) and MinimalCLI variants.
The 32-bit images use kernel 6.12.102 LTS and install via a text-mode script instead of Calamares.
Current Sparky 8 installations can be updated to 8.4 without downloading new images.
