Apple reportedly makes eight ATT changes in EU, dropping 'track' and allowing yearly re-prompts
Apple has reportedly agreed to eight changes to its App Tracking Transparency prompt in the EU, following a German antitrust investigation, including removing the word 'track' and allowing developers to re-prompt users after a year.
For developers, the prompt's wording and layout will change, affecting user consent rates and requiring UI updates. The new re-prompt option after a year gives a second chance to obtain tracking permission, but only in the EU. Outside the EU, the existing prompt remains, so region-specific code is needed.
