Twitch Adds Generative AI Training Opt-Out but Leaves Past Use Unanswered

Twitch introduced a Generative AI Training setting that lets streamers block Amazon from using their content for model training, but the default-on toggle does not address past use or other AI-powered platform features.
The opt-out shifts the burden of consent to creators, over 16,000 of whom reportedly opposed the default in a feedback forum. The setting also exposes a gap in transparency, as Twitch has not provided a timeline for when Amazon began using streams for AI training or whether that past training can be reversed.

The Generative AI Training setting is available in the Security and Privacy menu and disables future use of channel content for Amazon's AI model training.
