VESA patterns describe the millimeter spacing between a TV's mounting holes, but a matching pattern alone doesn't guarantee a mount is safe, you must also verify its weight rating and required hardware.
For anyone mounting displays, the VESA pattern is necessary but not sufficient. A bracket that fits the hole spacing can still fail if it can't support the TV's weight or if the wall-attachment method is wrong. Checking all three, pattern, weight, and hardware, avoids a failed or dangerous installation.

VESA patterns measure the horizontal × vertical distance between mounting holes in millimeters and do not indicate resolution or screen size.
