The Chrome Web Store will delete remaining Manifest V2 extension listings on August 31, 2026, a cleanup step with no functional impact since MV2 extensions stopped executing in Chrome over a year earlier.
If your extensions run in Chrome today, they are already Manifest V3; this date only removes store listings, not running code. The real deadline passed in July 2025 when Chrome 138 disabled MV2 for all users and removed the manual re-enable toggle. Engineers who still have MV2 listings in the store will see them disappear, but no running extension breaks on August 31.
