Yeh Yen-wei used an Insta360 X4 Air camera concealed in snacks to photograph 32 files containing DRAM process information during off-hours visits to restricted areas.
Nanya's IT security team detected the camera through its Bluetooth and/or Wi-Fi signals and tied the device to Yeh by correlating those emissions with his access records and activity logs.
Yeh was indicted under Taiwan's Trade Secrets Act and faces up to 10 years in prison, though forensic examination found no evidence the stolen data was successfully transmitted outside the company.
